Aaron Ramsey makes decision on Arsenal contract extension

According to reports from different sources, Arsenal Welsh midfielder Aaron Ramsey has declined a new contract extension offer.

Ramsey response to a new contract extension offer has seen his future with the Gunners very much still in the air.

Reports have claimed that the uncertainty surrounding the midfielder’s futures is due to the insecurity of his spot in the side and he has therefore rejected the opportunity to extend a contract which expires next year.

There exists claim from various quarters that Unai Emery dropped Ramsey against Chelsea last week because the gaffer wasn’t happy with his performance in the Manchester City match, and there exist question mark over the role the manager wants him to play.

This is coming just after last week where the Welshman was considered to be paramount to the project being overseen by Unai Emery. He referenced his longevity and ability as the main information stream for the new staff to help the club move forward.

His absence from the match came as a surprise to majority of his teammates, and that decision has informed the contract rejection by the player.

If Arsenal cannot secure the player’s pledge to the club for the nearest future, they may consider cashing in on him in January.

It now remains to be seen if Ramsey will use this as a motivator to get a better and an improve deal by upping his performance for the club between now and the end of the season.

Alexis Sanchez vacated Arsenal for Old Trafford last January in almost a similar fashion but Gunner fans are hopeful that Ramsey will sign to continue enjoying the good relationship he has with the club.
