Abramovich keen on player plus cash agreement to sign Marco Asensio

Chelsea are reportedly keen on signing Real Madrid winger, Marco Asensio in the summer with Roman Abrahamovich ready to bring him to Stamford Bridge next season.

The Blues have had a below par season by their standard having won the league last season but are currently 25 points adrift Premier League leaders Manchester City and could also be set to miss out on the top four for the second time in three years after back to back losses against the Manchester clubs which have seen them drop out of the Champions League places.

However, with the season almost over, the west London club focus will be on next season and their chase for Marco Asensio in the summer makes perfect sense given Eden Hazard’s contract situation at the Bridge yet to be solved and his desire to move to the Spanish Capital in the summer.

Spanish publication Don Balon reports that the Premier League champions are keen on a player plus cash deal in the summer that will see Marco Asensio move to Stamford Bridge while Belgian playmaker Eden Hazard moves in the opposite direction.

The highly rated Spanish forward has shown over time that age is just a number and he is ready to cut it out with the best when given the chance.

His brilliant performance for the Spanish giants in their round of 16 Champions League 5-2 win over Paris Saint Germain over two legs showed how he has matured over the years after playing a key role in the Los Blancos progress to the last eight of the competition.

The 21-year-old has featured in 39 games for Real Madrid across all competitions this season scoring 10 times and providing five assists.

Given his age and massive potential he will be a perfect signing for the Blues should Eden Hazard move to the Spanish capital in the summer.
