All terms agreed: World Cup winner agrees five-year deal with Chelsea

N'Golo Kante signs new Chelsea deal

It is a time for Chelsea fans to celebrate following the agreement by N’Golo Kante to remain at the club for another five years.

The Frenchman has penned a contract extension that will see him become the club’s highest paid earner on a fee of £290,000 per week. The sum could be surpassed by Eden Hazard if and when he decides to sign the contract extension on offer.

Kante, 27, joined Chelsea in 2016 after helping Leicester City secure their first ever premier league title in an unprecedented fashion only battling relegation the season before.

The diminutive midfielder whose position has slightly changed under Sarri, won the Premier League again with Chelsea a year after winning it with Leicester.

His performances at the World Cup in Russia contributed to his country lifting the Mundial they last won two decades before.

“I’m happy to extend my time with Chelsea, it has been two beautiful years and I wish for more to come.

“Since I came, I completely improved as a player, challenged myself and got some awards I never thought about.

“I like the city, I like the club and I am happy to be here for more time.”

Chelsea club director Marina Granovskaia added: “We are delighted N’Golo has signed a new contract and sees his long-term future with Chelsea.

Kante has been advised by his manager to add goals to his game as this will make him an all round quality in the midfield.

A win is expected against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday to celebrate the player’s contract extension.
