Arsenal agree 3-year deal to complete midfielder signing – not Suarez

Arsenal are reported to have agreed a 3-year deal to sign Sevilla midfielder Ever Banega according to news from Spain. The Argentine star has been linked to the Emirates since last summer an turned down a move to the club in July.

There have been indications in the past few weeks that there could be a transfer in the bag as the player’s agent was reportedly in London last week. He was believed to have met with Arsenal transfer chiefs over a potential transfer.

However reports later emerged that Banega has decided to stay at Sevilla as he is reluctant to move his family midway in the season. However, Estadio Deportivo reports that Banega is considering his stance having been offered a lucrative contract believed to be around £7milion/year.

Banega is considered one of the top midfielders in Spain due to his ability to dictate the tempo of the game. He can also play in different positions across the midfield and has the ability to find the back of the net from a long range.

Emery envisages that Banega would be the perfect replacement for Juventus-bound Aaron Ramsey. The Spanish tactician knows much about Banega during his stint at Valencia and Sevilla.

Arsenal remains three points off the top four places and next face a difficult trip to the London stadium to face West Ham on Saturday.
