Juventus defender Mehdi Benatia is unhappy at Turin after running out of favour in Massimiliano Allegri’s first team. According to reports in Italy, Arsenal are considering a January swoop for the Morocco international.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, Gunners bosses have made ‘first contacts’ over a potential transfer.
Reports claims that Benatia could be available for £13m (€15m). AC Milan are also interested in the player and are in hunt for his signature.
The Seria A giants, like Gunners have made contacts with the player.
Benatia has only featured in five matches in all competitions this season. The Old Ladies coach Allegri prefers Leonardo Bonucci and Giorgio Chiellini to Benatia while Andrea Barzagli and Daniele Rugani also provide stiff competition.
Benatia could be available for a cut-price fee as he is in the final two years of his contract.
Juventus boss Allegri has insisted that the Morocco international remains an important player in the team.
Benatia has however admitted that he is finding it difficult spending time on the bench.
“I am struggling playing a game every now and then,” he told Italian publications La Stampa earlier this week.
Manchester United and Barcelona are also interested in the player.
