Arsenal send officials to Italy as they rival Liverpool for €50million transfer

Reports have emerged from Italy that Arsenal have sent scouts to monitor the situation of Nicolo Barella, who is also interesting Liverpool.

The 21-year-old Italian joined Cagliari in 2016 and has since gone to develop into a fine player, becoming one of the highly rated players in Europe.

Liverpool’s interest in the player is a sign that he is a good footballer and that he can improve on other aspects of his football. With Klopp at the helm, stepping up and working hard is his ethos, and players have seen their quality soar with the German.

The Italian who is reportedly valued at €50m might be tempted to join Liverpool but Arsenal are also lurking around him. This sudden interest by Arsenal can be attributed to the rumoured refusal of Ramsey to sign a contract extension.

Nicolo Barella could therefore be the replacement for the Wales international as he completes is final lap at the emirate Stadium.

The Italian will be a good replacement as he has the ability to cover a lot of ground on the pitch by playing in a box to box role.

At Liverpool however, Barella could find it daunting to break into a midfield with the likes of James Miller, Nebil Keita, injured Chamberlain, Shaqiri and even Wijnaldum.

Nothing is a given in football so hopefully he will be a good addition to whichever club succeeds in securing his service in the end.
