Arsenal summer spending spree continues as the London club appear to have signed French starlet Matteo Guendouzi on a five-year deal. A video which features the youngster signing a contract has gone viral and was thought to have been posted by his agent Phillipe Nabe. Guendouzi had earlier uploaded a picture of himself with the caption London on his Instagram page. This brought widespread reports that the player was set to undergo a medical at the club’s Colney training HQ.
The 19-year-old defender is expected to cost Arsenal £7 million from French side Lorient. Guendouzi would be hoping to follow the footsteps of Koscielny who left Lorient some seasons back and established himself as one of the best defenders in England.
Guendouzi is highly rated in France having represented his country at the youth levels featuring recently for the u20 squad. Tottenham and Manchester City had earlier been linked with the player but it looks like the player has set his sights on a move to the Emirates. If the transfer is confirmed, Guendouzi would become the fifth major transfer conducted by the Gunners this summer. Arsenal have been active in the market as the club seeks to readdress the squad ahead of next season.
Guendouzi 19 had an impressive season for French club featuring 21 times for the league 1 side.
