Spanish club, Atletico Madrid have announced the loan transfer of Arsenal target Gelson Martins to Monaco until the season end.
The Portuguese International was highly touted by big European clubs after the incident that saw most players depart Sporting Lisbon last season.
He however decided to quit Lisbon for Atletico Madrid even with genuine interest from other clubs especially Arsenal.
It thus seems that Spain hasn’t been favourable to the player and the club in other to help him with more game time have agreed to send him on loan to Monaco to face a new challenge evidenced by the statement below:
“Our club has reached an agreement with AS Monaco for the transfer of Gelson Martins until the end of this season. The Portuguese footballer, who joined our team last summer, has played a total of 12 games with the ‘rojiblanca’ shirt. Eight in LaLiga, two in the Champions League and two in the Copa del Rey.
“The Portuguese striker has played a total of 12 games defending our shirt since he arrived in the past summer market.
“The footballer now faces a new challenge in his professional career, for which we wish him good luck from Atlético de Madrid.”
