Chelsea have reportedly made an initial offer for highly rated youngster Antoine Semonyo. The Mail Online claims that Chelsea have tabled a £1 million bid for the Bristol City prodigy.
Semenyo is currently on-loan at League Two outfit Newport County and has impressed scoring six times in all competitions. He had been the subject of scouting by the Blues some weeks ago and the club believes that the player can make the grade at Stamford Bridge.
Bristol City have informed the Blues that the player would cost within the region of £2million. Chelsea have plans to integrate the player into the u23 side and have high hopes for the 19 year old striker.
Semenyo was impressive against Middlesbrough in the FA Cup and helped the League Two side earn a replay. Chelsea have a robust youth setup and Semenyo would be hoping to follow the footsteps of Loftus-Cheek in breaking into the first team.
His signing would be the 3rd signing for the Blues in what has been a busy transfer window for the club. Borussia Dortmund ace Christian Pulisic and Juventus hitman Gonzalo Higuain are the other two major signings made by the club in January.
Chelsea next faces Bournemouth on Wednesday as the club seek to consolidate its position in the top four.
