Chelsea are reportedly keen on entering a swap deal with Barcelona over one of their player.
Willian, 30, has been in the Chelsea fold for quite some seasons now. He joined from Anzhi Makhachkala and has gone to win the Premier League and FA cup under various managers.
Last season, the Brazilian was a subject of intense transfer rumour from England and abroad. From England, Manchester United were hugely interested to sign the player and Barcelona was another strong admirer from abroad.
Although, the player stayed put after Maurizio Sarri made it crystal clear that he wasn’t going to do any business whatsoever for the player.
Things seem to have changed with reports of a swap deal for the Brazilian that will see him join the Catalan side in January and Malcolm heading the other way to west London.
Willian is priced at £75m by the Camp Nou owners and they are willing to sacrifice Malcolm anoher Brazilian that joined from French side Bordeaux this summer for the deal to succeed.
Malcolm is younger and at 21 still has a lot of hidden potentials that might come good as he grows older.
The deal if agreed will benefit Chelsea more as they will be getting a younger and potential superstar and become £75m richer.
Malcolm hasn’t had the expected start in the Barcelona side. He correctly has 25 minutes of football under his belt in 11 La Liga games since he joined the Spanish champions.
Willian on the other hand has played regularly although sometimes he is replaced with Pedro for more impetus.
His going to Barcelona will drastically reduce his playing time given that the position he usually occupies at Chelsea is filled by Coutinho and Messi at Barça.
It looks likes a great deal for Chelsea but a bad one for Willian. He might prove the world wrong though.
