Chelsea eager to complete late transfer deal for pacy striker

Tammy Abraham

Chelsea are reportedly close to agreeing a loan transfer for their striker, Tammy Abraham to Aston Villa.

Tammy Abraham joined Chelsea at the under-8 level where he has been until his recent loan spells at both Championship and Premier League clubs.

In the 2016-17 season, he featured for Chelsea against Liverpool and Leicester City before leaving on loan to Bristol City.

Aston Villa lost the play off to Fulham last season, but they have started the season strongly with two wins in two outings. The club is poised to complete the signing of Abraham from Chelsea before the end of the transfer window to bolster their return on goal.

Prolific Tammy Abraham, spent 2016-17 season on loan with Bristol City scoring an amazing 26 goals in 48 appearances for the championship club. Last season, while on loan with Swansea, he netted 8 times in 39 appearances.

The 20-year-old with two international caps featured for Chelsea against City in the Community Shield earlier this month, but he is being tipped to depart the club in search of regular football.

Aston Villa’s manager, Steve Bruce is keen on securing the player on loan before the close of the transfer window which is still open to premier league clubs that want to loan players to lower league sides until August 31.

He has also been reportedly linked to similar swoops for West Ham winger Robert Snodgrass and Everton forward Yannick Bolasie on a season-long.

Abraham is contracted at Chelsea until June 2022, and is valued at £9 million. If he departs to Aston Villa on loan this season, it will be his third successive loan spell.
