Chelsea target confirms he wants to sign for a “big club”

Genoa striker, Krzysztof Piatek who is a target for Chelsea is reportedly interested in joining a club that features in the Champions League.

The 23-year-old who joined the Italian side last summer has bagged 13 goals in 13 appearances placing him among elite strikers in Europe top five leagues at the moment.

His exploits have not gone unnoticed and a host of European giants such as Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Juventus, Roma and Borussia Dortmund have all been credited with an interest.

The player whose contract will expire in 2023 has however declared that he would like to move to a champions league club when he departs Genoa.

Genoa according to the player is a stepping stone to bigger and more permanent dreams. The player had this to say:

‘The dream of those who come to Genoa is that they use it as a stepping stone towards a big club. If I continue this way, I could sign for a big club. My objective is to play in the Champions League.’ He concluded.

Chelsea’s interest in the player is due to doubts in the strike force being led by Alvaro Morata. The Blues will at least sign a striker in January to bring in the goals and complement the hard work by the team.

Piatek’s form however has dropped as he has now gone five games without a goal. Also, the £40m plus asking price might be too big for a player who is untested in the big clubs.

Chelsea will hope to complete the signing of a good striker in January as they continue to push for a league title under the guardian of Maurizio Sarri
