A €50m defender being targeted by Chelsea has started taking English classes according to reports.
Daniele Rugani, 24, is a central defender currently on the payroll of Italian giants Juventus. Although he has found playing minutes difficult to gather in a team well stocked in that department.
The likes of Leonardo Bonucci, Giorgio Chiellini and Andrea Barzagli are all ahead of him in the pecking order but his quality is there for all to see.
In the past summer he was hugely linked to join either Chelsea or Arsenal but a transfer never materialized.
However, with reports of the Italian now taking English classes, one of two things can be deduced from the endeavour.
It is either he is personally interested in developing a foreign language competence or he is gearing up for a summer transfer to England with Arsenal or Chelsea where English is a lingua franca.

Rugani must be a good defender because of the interest he is getting from Maurizio Sarri, a manager he worked with whilst at Empoli.
The Blues do not seem in urgent need of a defender as they have only conceded 8 goals in 11 league games thus far through the defensive solidity enforced by Antonio Rudiger and David Luis.
So any talk of a transfer is a plan for the future given that Chelsea have a couple of old legs at the back that need replacing such as, Garry Cahill and David Luis The duos contract will ebb out next summer. So the recruitment of Rugani becomes paramount.
