Chelsea have been mentioned amongst admirers for Christian Pulisic of Borrussia Dortmund and a date has been given for the deal to happen.
The £70m rated attacking midfield has been a revelation for the Germany side since joining. His impressive growth has attracted interest from various clubs home and abroad.
Chelsea are hugely interested in bringing the player in January, but BVB do not seem overly taken with such a sudden departure for one of their most valuable assets. Instead they might consider a summer move.
‘We have known these rumours for many years,’ he said.
‘We are planning with him (Pulisic) until at least the end of the season.’
The German club has recently been a hunting ground for top European clubs for reinforcement. First it was Ousmane Dembele who departed for Barcelona, then Aubemayang joined Arsenal in January while Sokratis Papastopolous followed suit in the summer.
Chelsea see the 21-year-old American as a perfect replacement for Eden Hazard whose links to Real Madrid have refused to hide their heads. The Blues will also benefit from an improved American fansbase if the player is convinced to join in the winter or summer.
However, according to Zorc, their football director, it is unlikely Dortmund will do business for the player in January and instead have mentioned the summer as an appropriate time for any negotiations.
