Chelsea have been in the news in the past few weeks over transfer targets such as Gonzalo Higuain and Leandro Paredes. However, one transfer that has been agreed is that of AZ Alkmaar defender Justin de Hass.
The highly-rated defender is expected to move to the club at the end of the season on a free transfer according to reports in England.
De Haas has been part of the AZ Alkmaar youth setup this season and has made three appearances in the Jupiler League.
He becomes the latest youth player to join the highly rated Chelsea academy setup and would be expected to continue his development with the youth setup. The 18-year-old defender has already featured for the Holland u17 national team.
Chelsea are known for their policy of signing the best youth talents across Europe and then farming them out on loan. Haas has displayed the potential to become a decent defender and he would be hopeful of emulating Andreas Christensen who emerged from the youth ranks to the senior team.
AZ Alkmaar has denied that Chelsea have made an approach for the defender. It will be interesting to see how this transfer pans out at the end of the season.
