Done deal? Chelsea look set to announce major agreement before Tottenham game

Chelsea face Tottenham on Thursday in the second leg of the Carabao Cup and one player that could feature in the match is Gonzalo Higuain. The Blues are keen to confirm the transfer before noon deadline on Wednesday.

Higuain is expected to jet into London on Wednesday and undergo a medical before finalizing the transfer. Chelsea are understood to have been given the green light to confirm the transfer after AC Milan  agreed on a deal to sign Krzysztof  Piatek from Genoa.

The Premier League have agreed to bring Higuain in an initial 6 month loan deal with an option to make permanent in the summer for around €36million.  A Loan fee of €9million was also paid to AC Milan since the Italian side paid €18million for a full loan from Juventus last summer.

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri is keen for the transfer to be concluded as he believes that the Argentine forward is the solution to the club’s attacking woes.  Higuain would be expected to lead the forward line alongside Willian and Hazard as the Blues look to consolidate the top 4.

Chelsea faithful would be hopeful that the deal is conclude before midday on Wednesday as the club seeks to overrun a 1-0 deficit to Tottenham from the first leg played 2 weeks ago.
