Done deal? Man Utd agree deal for defender

Manchester United have been relatively inactive in the January transfer window. This could be partly due to the good form the team has attained since the appointment of Ole Gunnar Solksjaer.

However, one transfer that could happen in the next few days is that of Matteo Darmian to Juventus. The Italian international is understood to be inching closer to a loan move according to reports from Italy.  La Gazzetta dello Sport claims that Juventus have agreed to pay within the region of €3-4 million as a loan fee for the defender with an option to buy in the summer.

Damian has failed to nail down a spot in the first team this season with Ashley Young and Diogo Dalot preferred to the 29-year-old. He has been limited to just five Premier League Appearances this season.

It is, therefore, no surprise that the player is eager for a move away from Old Trafford in January.

United are believed to monitoring potential targets ahead of what could be a massive spree in the summer. Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly and Tottenham ace Toby Alderweireld are high on the list of players wanted by the club. Both defenders would cost the club over £100million in transfer as the club looks to rebuild in the summer.
