Ed Woodward sanctions £100m for two class signings

Jose Mourinho

Finally, there is good news as Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has been reportedly promised to be supported with £100m in the January transfer window to recruit a striker and a defender.

The manager yearns for a striker and a solid defender in the mould of Varane, Jerome Boateng and even Harry Maguire or any other good defender for that matter.

His interest in these players was short-lived as the board did not share in his vision and so decline approving funds to secure their services.

Although, it seems that the executive are now willing to support the Portuguese manager if he identifies quality players that are deemed satisfactory by both parties.

After seeing Lukaku and Rashford only having one goal each in nine matches, that department has been declared an emergency by the manager in January.

Although, the club have not been docile in recruiting players as some quarters will have us believe given that in January they entered a deal to swap Henrik Mkhitaryan for Alexis Sanchez.

Granted that the Chilean has been largely disappointing other players have stepped up their games for the club.

The recent encomiums showered on Martial by his teammate Matic goes to show that the Frenchman has been doing well for the club. His 2-goals against Chelsea, a goal and won penalty against Everton has put the man in good light.
