Most Chelsea fans were unhappy with the performance of their captain-for-the-night, Garry Cahill against Bate Borisov in Belarus. A match they won one-nil through Oliver Giroud’s goal.
Majority of the fans on twitter slated the showing of the former Bolton player and some believe that he should be sold or barred from featuring for the club until his contract expires at the end of this season.
Cahill is everything that Sarri doesn't want in a defender

Poor from Chelsea so far, no two ways about it. Entitled approach. Sarri should take the captain out for Ampadu to send a message…

Players sit on the bench for a reason. Cahill is proving that.

The 32-year-old central defender has seen better days. He has scored 25 goals in his 287 appearances for the Blues.
However, it does seem that the pace of the league and the training regimen might have become too tasking for the once solid defender.
Despite his limited appearances this season, the Englishman still finds time to angst the fans with his performances. He had a similar inert game against Derby County which saw him excessively criticised afterwards.
Cahill’s contract will expire at this season’s end and hopefully before then he would have gotten a suitable club to end his illustrious career.
He has paid his dues and should think it is time to leave now that the damage isn’t yet total and some of the fans still hold him in high regard.
