Chelsea are sweating over the injury concern of their star man and highest goal scorer, Eden Hazard. The Belgian is currently nursing a back injury that might see him ruled out of the Europa League encounter with Bate Borisov on Thursday.
Shortly after the weekend crunch encounter with Manchester United, the Belgian complained of soreness in his back. This was due partly to the way the visiting team set up to contain the threat of the pacey and tricky midfielder.
The game ended in a two-all draw. Manchester United came from behind after conceding a goal by Antonio Rudiger in the first half. However, Anthony Martial’s brace in the second half almost won them the three points until a late equalizer from the Blues ensured that the points was shared.
The Red devils approached the game with one strategy in mind which was to neutralise the threat of Hazard and a host of their in-form players. However, the treatment meted out to the Belgian was most pronounced and limited him to a couple of half chances and now a back injury.
Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri will hope that the soreness will not persist for too long given that the Belgian is pivotal to Chelsea winning something this season.
