Kolasinac starts – Arsenal’s strongest possible XI v Liverpool

Arsenal play host to Liverpool at the Emirates today evening. A win against the Reds will see them mentioned as genuine title contenders.

For the crunch fixture, Arsenal may make the following line-up to secure vital three points against a Liverpool side who are joint top of the table with Manchester City.

Petr Cech might remain on the bench after a nervy display in midweek. So Bernd Leno might be recalled.

In defence, there is good news for the Gunners with reports of an imminent return for left back Sead Kolasinac who has missed majority of the campaign due to injuries. Bellerin is a doubt with a thigh injury suffered against Crystal Palace.

In central defence, we might see Holding pairing Sokratis. The Greek was rested in midweek. Mustafi is also available.

In midfield, Xhaka and Lucas Torreira may likely get the nod given that Guendouzi is not available due to suspension. Mesut Ozil, in-form Iwobi and Aubemayang will supposedly complete the midfield with Lacazette the lone striker.

Ozil who had a game to forget against Crystal Palace last weekend will wish for his mojo if selected against a hardworking Liverpool side.

Iwobi is doing good things in the wings so he might be selected ahead of Henrik Mikhtaryan and Aaron Ramsey. The former has not rediscovered the form that brought him to England from Dortmund.

Lacazette could be selected ahead of Danny Welbeck after the latter’s unimpressive display in midweek.

Here’s how the Arsenal team cold line up v Liverpool.
