Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing Benfica defender Ruben Dias according to reports from Portugal.
It is understood that the Red Devils are looking to strengthen their squad in the summer and are in the mix to sign Dias and teammate Joao Felix.
Dias has been a standout performer for the Portuguese outfit and has emerged as one of the brightest young defenders in Europe. The 21-year-old centre back is valued at £51 million and several clubs are looking to sign the highly rated youngster.
Portuguese tabloid Record claims that Juventus and Manchester United are locked in a two-way battle for the defender. The report concludes that the Italian Champions have the edge and are favourites to sign Dias.
However, the Red Devils have proven in the past that they have the financial muscles to get any player that they desire.
United are in dire need of reinforcements at the back and Dias would be an ideal player to strengthen the defence ahead of next season.
The 21-year-old has an existing contract with the Portuguese outfit that runs until the summer of 2023.
Dias has been an ever-present in the Benfica line-up making 49 appearances for the club so far. It remains to be seen how this transfer pans out as we enter the summer transfer window.
