Chelsea welcome Arsenal to Stamford Bridge on Saturday. Both teams had contrasting results in their season opener with Chelsea overcoming Huddersfield while Arsenal fell to the incisive football of the Champions, Manchester City.
Chelsea’s last week opponent were lowly Huddersfield, but this week visitors will pose a tougher challenge than the terriers.
New manager Sarri is a subscriber in the 4-3-3 trusted and tested system. Last week he experimented with a front three consisting of Morata, Willian and Pedro.
Morata’s inability to find the back of the net has now continued for 14 consecutive matches. A feat that the manager isn’t very comfortable with and might be tempted to make amends in order to bag three additional points against a top four rival.
On Sunday’s evidence, Morata might be replaced with Hazard while Willian and Pedro flank him to give impetus to their attack against a defense consisting of new boys Sokratis and Leichtsteiner.
Also, the midfield might take a new look given that a debut might be afforded new signing, Kovacic from Real Madrid on a season-long loan to replace Ross Barkley in a Jorginho – Kovacic -Kante type of midfield.
Hopefully with this changes, another three points can be collected by simply subjecting Arsenal to another defeat even though victory looks difficult.
Predicted lineup: Kepa; Azpilicueta, Luiz, Rudiger, Alonso;, Kante, Kovacic; Pedro, Willian, Hazard
