Reuben Loftus-Cheek reported January loan move to West Ham United has been blocked by Maurizio Sarri.
Sarri have decline sanctioning the deal due to the busy schedule in December and has plans for the player in the second half of the season.
The 22-year-old Englishman has had to endure limited playing time in the league and championship with Chelsea. This is because of the quality of players the manager has at his disposal.
However, some quarters are calling for him to depart Chelsea in order to further his footballing career as he is already 22.
Pinning down a regular position in the club hasn’t been easy and people are suggesting to the player joins West Ham United on a loan in January. A move the manager has decline to consent.
These suggestions are made because of the success recorded by the player last season whilst on a season long loan with Crystal Palace. He featured regularly in 24 matches or thereabout in the league. A fit that propelled the player into the national team and the World Cup.
However, Reuben Loftus-Cheek is yet to begin a Premier League match under Sarri. A situation that doesn’t look like changing unless of course there are injuries or fatigue to the three core players in midfield preferred by Sarri.
It is not all doom for the player at least. Sarri opting to keep him will have a use for him at the second half of the season. So he should remain calm and continue to perform when called upon.
The hat trick he scored against Bate Borisov last month goes to show that he has quality and that will be enough for him to overcome any present challenge.
