Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has jettisoned rumours of a January movement for his English star, Reuben Loftus-Cheek.
The midfielder who scored a hat trick against Bate Borisov on their Europa league group stage fixture last month has been a subject of speculation since the beginning of the season.
Gossip in some quarters have speculated a return to Crystal Palace, the club were he had an impressive loan spell last season. This is despite featuring five times for the Blues so far.
However, the 22-year-old Englishman has not started a premier league match this campaign but his manager is convinced that there won’t be movement in the winter for the player regardless.
In the manager’s words, “Ruben in October played four matches out of five, so I think that at the moment the situation is not for loan, of course,”
It is obvious from the manager’s statement that the club will not grant a loan move for the player come January.
The player’s improvement in the technical and physical department were also noted by the manager, “He has improved, but I think he still needs to improve more from a tactical point of view.”
“The rest is good. He has great physical characteristics, he’s fast, solid, he has impact, and technically he is very good. I think that if he wants to play like a midfielder he has to improve in the defensive phase at the moment, but his potential is great”, he continued.
