Ahead of the January transfer window, Chelsea coach has identified Inter Milan’s impressive central defender Milan Skriniar as a player he wants to add to his team.
An overhaul is envisaged by stakeholders at the club. This is because only three players were brought in the summer and one was on a loan deal.
To enhance the team so that the Sarri-ball style can be effected, Skriniar who is also targeted by Manchester United is the man Chelsea coach yearns.
23-year-old Skriniar is desperate for a better contract offer that will improve his wages at his current club. A situation that could spur a January or summer transfer if not swiftly nipped in the bud.
Manchester United are keen admirers of the Slovak central defensive star who Inter have supposedly slammed a £70m transfer fee on.
The player is aware of these interests and has commented thus: When some coach like Jose [Mourinho] says that he is looking for a player like me or somebody else, it’s always nice, but I don’t know why these rumours continue.
‘Even if Jose is one of the most famous, best, greatest coaches in the world, it’s not something I think of because I’m playing for Inter and am happy here at Inter.’
Skriniar who joined Inter Milan from Sampdoria for £15.8m last year is on his second season with the hitherto Italian giants.
If the hierarchy in place at a Chelsea are able to fulfil their manager’s wishes, it will be an investment that will yield profits as the player is still young and obviously talented.
