Chelsea defender, Garry Cahill wants to see out his contract at Chelsea after a bright start to the campaign.
Cahill was deemed surplus to requirement and was pegged to the exit door at last summer transfer window only for an exit not to materialize for the player who is in the final year of his contract.
According to reports, the player was gunning for an exit because of limited playing time at the club during Conte and envisaged same under the new manager but things seem to be gradually becoming clearer.
The player has therefore suddenly decided to see out his contract with the Blues after an improved involvement this campaign that has seen him featured in the Carabao cup and Europa league matches.
Another factor that has been attributed to his sudden desire to remain at the club is the progress the team is making under the watchful eyes of Maurizio Sarri. Chelsea have played 10 matches, won 8 and drew 2.
Also, the Europa league is a competition that was won by the club in 2013 with Cahill featuring prominently. So the player is hopeful of winning the competition again after a strong start that has brought two wins in the same number outing.
Cahill is a solid defender who still has a lot to offer to the team in a bit part role given his age. His leadership quality will be needed during the run in to the campaign.
